Hi! I'm Marietta
I paint both realistic and loose watercolours from which I make prints as well as surface pattern designs for fabrics and products. I'm also a sewist who particularly loves quilting and I turn my fabrics into slow fashioned one of a kind products.
If you purchase a sewn product from me be assured you will have the only one of its kind in the world.
Art
Making art whether it be sketching painting or sewing keeps me happy. From sketching to painting objects, plants and animals as motifs for my fabric designs to planning a quilt, I am in my element. For my surface designs I generally paint a lot of individual motifs rather than scenes and then arrange these for fabric. At times though I will paint the entire pattern in one go. Takes a bit of fiddling to make it work in a pattern but it's fun to fill a page.
Fabric
My love for sewing, especially quilting landed me in the world of surface pattern design. Although I have made some entirely digital fabric designs my intention is to only work with watercolours for all future designs. How the strokes and shades can be captured and reproduced on fabric is very appealing. I work entirely in procreate. My designs are also available as wallpaper and can be manipulated for other products.
